About Us

Go Girlz Inc. is a non-profit organization designed to empower and build the self -esteem of inner-city girls. Too often our girls see negative images and portrayals of women both in print and on screen. In many urban communities, there is a lack of viable resources to combat these negative stereotypes; thus, our girls are left feeling worthless, objectified and devoid of hope. Inner-city home environments often contribute to the detriment of our girls, with childhood neglect statistics on the rise. At Go Girlz Inc., we firmly prescribe to the notion that with the proper support, guidance and opportunities, inner-city girls can succeed, love themselves, and become productive role models for the next generation. We seek to restore the self-respect that is incessantly stolen from our girls in a male- dominated, misogynistic society.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide inner-city girls with the skills and resources needed to achieve their personal best mentally, socially and academically. Through a holistic programming approach, Go Girlz Inc. trains young girls to be confident, responsible and highly respected leaders in their schools and communities.

Purpose

The purpose of Go Girlz Inc. is to provide inner-city girls with a sense of pride, self-esteem and social awareness. Our objective is to lower the negative statistics surrounding inner-city girls by fostering self-respect, academic excellence and social responsibility. In doing this, we will consequently create respectful, strong-willed, and career-driven women who can in turn be the change in their own communities.
